Prof. Calabrese obtained a PhD in Psychology and a medical habilitation degree in experimental neurology (MDhabil) and medical neuropsychology at the University of Bochum (Germany). He is also trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and holds an european diploma in preventive medicine. In 1995 Dr. Calabrese was nominated as head of Department of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurology and head of the memory clinic at the University Hospital of Bochum (Germany). Since 2011, Dr. Calabrese is professor at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Basel/Switzerland (Division of molecular and cognitive neuroscience) and heads the behavioral neurology and neuropsychology unit. He has also served as head of the Dept. of Neuropsychology and behavioral Neurology at the neurocenter of southern switzerland. He is also lecturer for neurosciences and neurodegenerative disease in the preventive medicine branch of the Dresden International University (DIU). His research focus is in the field of diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychological and behavioral disturbances in neuropsychiatric patients (with a focus on PD, AD and MS). He is involved in the conceptualization of several clinical trails in the field of behavioral neurology and psychiatry. Prof. Calabrese is member of the scientific advisory board of the Swiss MS-Society (SMSG) and board member of various other professional and scientific societies and also member of Editorial boards of national and international Journals. He has authored and co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers, edited and co-edited 10 books on cognitive disorders as well as over 80 book chapters and invited reviews. He also authored and co-authored several psychometric tests on cognitive and behavioural disturbances in brain-damaged subjects. In 2011 Prof. Calabrese and his coworkers received the Geriatric Brain-Science-Award for their investigations on cognitive brain aging.

Dr. Pasquale Calabrese's research interests include: Memory functions in brain damaged subjects Relationship between Cognition and lesion load in Multiple Sclerosis Differentiation of dementia subtypes by means of cognitive tests Functional-neuroanatomy of learning and memory.

Dr. Shenton’s primary appointment is as Professor in Psychiatry, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Director of the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory. This is a new position as of October 1, 2005. Prior to this time, her academic appointment, also at the professorial level, was in the Laboratory of Neuroscience, directed by Dr. Robert W. McCarley, VA Boston Healthcare System, where she was Professor (since 2000) and Director of the Clinical Neuroscience Division of the Laboratory of Neuroscience. Dr. Shenton began working with Dr. McCarley in 1984, and she began working in the Surgical Planning Laboratory with Drs. Ferenc Jolesz and Ron Kikinis in 1988. Drs. Shenton, McCarley, Kikinis, and Jolesz have been actively collaborating on brain structural anomalies in schizophrenia since 1988. In 2003, Dr. Shenton was also appointed as Professor of Radiology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr.Shenton, more recently working with collaborators in Portugal on a project investigating brain abnormalities in William’s Syndrome patients. Since 1999, her research focus has also included diffusion tensor imaging of white matter fiber tracts in schizophrenia.Recently she has been involved in a 10 Clinical Consortium Site on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury that is funded through the Department of Defense. Here she is PI of the Neuroimaging Leadership Core and plays a key role in delineating brain injuries in both civilian and military populations. Dr. Shenton is an established research investigator who has received a Career Scientist Development Award (K01, 1988-1993), two Independent Scientist Awards (K02, 1994-1999 and 1999-2004), and, a Senior Scientist Award (K05, 2004-2009) from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Dr. Shenton has also received R01 grant support from NIMH for her imaging studies in schizophrenia, as well as support from VA Merit Awards. She was co-PI on a VA Schizophrenia Center grant, and she was PI on an Imaging Core and a Project as part of a Boston CIDAR Center grant that was focused on evaluating vulnerability to progression in schizophrenia (2007-2012). Additionally, she has received numerous private foundation grants including two Milton Foundation Awards, two Scottish Rite Awards, a Stanley Foundation Award for Research into Serious Mental Illnesses, as well as being a Senior Mentor for the Stanley Medical Research Institute to support hands-on research experience for high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students, and medical students in the field of mental health (1997-2004). She is author on more than 400 peer reviewed empirical articles and proceedings, as well as author or co-author on multiple book chapters. Most recently she has edited a book with Dr. Bruce Turetsky for Cambridge University Press entitled Understanding Neuropsychiatric Disorders (2011). She has also edited a book with Dr. Christoph Mulert for Springer Verlag Press entitled MRI in Psychiatry (2014). She is Associate Editor of Brain Imaging and Behavior, and she is also on the editorial board of Schizophrenia Bulletin, Schizophrenia Research, and Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, as well as being a frequent reviewer for more than fifty journals. She has served on the National Institute of Health Study Committees, including the following Initial Review Groups: Clinical Neuroscience and Biological Psychiatry, Brain Disorders and Clinical Neuroscience-6, Conte Center grant reviews, and the Neural Basis of Psychopathology, Addictions and Sleep Disorders Study Section. She has also reviewed grants for the Wellcome Trust in the United Kingdom and for the March of Dimes Birth Defect Foundation. She also serves as a member of the Board of Honors Tutors in the Department of Psychology (Faculty of Arts and Sciences), Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, and she has been Chair and Co-Chair of the Research and Development Committee, VA Boston Healthcare System, as well as for the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and she has also served as a member of the Subcommittee of Professors, Harvard Medical School. She has received numerous awards throughout her career, including being the fifth recipient of the Joseph Zubin Memorial Fund Award for Research in Psychopathology, the William Silen Lifetime Achievement Award for Mentoring, and a Distinguished NARSAD award.

Tang Wai Kwong was appointed to professor in the Department of Psychiatry, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011. His main research areas are Addictions and Neuropsychiatry in Stroke. Professor Tang has published over 100 papers in renowned journals, and has also contributed to the peer review of 40 journals. He has secured over 20 major competitive research grants. He has served the editorial boards of five scientific journals. He was also a recipient of the Young Researcher Award in 2007, awarded by the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Saly H. Elkholy, MD, is a Professor of Clinical Neurophysiology in the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University, Egypt. She graduated from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine in 1987 and obtained her MD in Clinical Neurophysiology in 1996. Throughout her academic and clinical career, she has contributed extensively to teaching, research, and patient care in the field of neurophysiology. Dr. Elkholy has significant expertise in electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), evoked potentials (EP), sleep medicine, and neurodiagnostic techniques. She has authored and co-authored numerous national and international publications focusing on epilepsy, stroke rehabilitation, peripheral neuropathies, neurophysiological diagnostics, and brain electrophysiology.

Dr. Saly H. Elkholy's research interests focus on the broad field of clinical neurophysiology, with particular emphasis on electroencephalography (EEG), quantitative EEG, electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies, and evoked potentials.

Dr. Terry Lichtor is a distinguished neurosurgeon, neuroscientist, and academic affiliated with the Department of Neurological Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, USA. He has made significant contributions to the fields of neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and translational neuroscience through his clinical practice, research, and academic leadership. Dr. Lichtor has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has been actively involved in advancing the understanding of brain tumors, molecular neurobiology, and innovative therapeutic approaches for neurological diseases. His work integrates laboratory research with clinical applications to improve diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with complex neurological disorders.

Dr. Terry Lichtor's research focuses on neuro-oncology and the molecular mechanisms underlying brain tumors, particularly gliomas and other central nervous system malignancies.
